Stadtmuseum Oldenburg
New paths – new brand

The Stadtmuseum Oldenburg (Oldenburg City Museum) is undergoing an extensive transformation process: a new museum building is under construction - and new paths are also to be taken in terms of programming.

The museum used this strategically optimal time to develop a new corporate design with Heine Lenz Zizka that also does justice to the major changes at the brand level.

The word/figurative mark consists of the name “Stadtmuseum Oldenburg” (Oldenburg City Museum), which is accessible in lower case letters, in combination with the new signet “SMO”, which is based on the abbreviation of the word mark. It has a lively, dancing typographic character - and the potential to become the museum's endearing nickname as a new short form.

A magazine, also designed by us, accompanies the construction activities and also highlights the work behind the scenes. It will also be continued after the reopening in 2026 with a changing thematic focus.

In addition, a lively campaign entitled Museum findet Stadt was created as part of the conversion.
