Hamburger Kunsthalle
250 years of C.D. Friedrich
2024 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of an icon of art history. To mark this Caspar David Friedrich anniversary, the Hamburger Kunsthalle, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden have joined forces to stage a series of special exhibitions.
The great master will be celebrated with three exhibitions in the respective cities. The work will be presented in unprecedented completeness and new target groups will be inspired by this exceptional artist.
The exhibitions will be accompanied by digital and analog publications.
This made it necessary to develop a separate visual identity for the anniversary year. This was to encompass the three main institutions involved and be highly effective in cross-media external communication.
